Our major projects

Established in 2018 in Australia, Yara Group has grown into a leading player in the exploration and mining sector in Papua New Guinea. 

We collaborated with Galaxy Group and successfully developed several exploration, mining, and sales projects, shipping service projects, and machinery-leasing projects across the country.

Our business has faced several disruptions due to Covid-19; as of today, various projects are actively resuming.

1. Sumwari Project - Alluvial and porphyry gold deposits located in West Sepic Province about 20 kilometers away from giant Frida River Project. 


2. Tamo project - Alluvial gold deposits in up-stream Sepik River region. 


3. Bulolo project - Alluvial gold deposits in Bulolo historic gold mining district.

  • 03/2018 Sumwari project received approval and support from the government of East Sepik Province.
  • 06/2018 Sumwari project agreement was officially signed, and construction of a mining camp began.
  • 01/2019 Sumwari project mining license ML519 granted.
  • 01/2019 Tamo project agreement was officially signed.

  • 04/2019 Signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the then Minister of Mining.
  • 06/2019 Signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the then Governor of East Sepik Province. 
  • 07/2019 Tamo project equipment was shipped to Tamo village near the mining site, and road work began.
  • 08/2019 Bulolo project production began. 
  • 09/2019 Agreement for a new project in the surrounding area of Bulolo project was signed. 
  • 09/2019 China Forestry Group visited our forestry projects in PNG.
  • 10/2019 The new project in the Bulolo project area was approved.
  • 12/2019 the road construction of Tamo project was basically completed.
